The hotel had clean and well-presented rooms but was a bit stuffy with a heavy smell of smoke and mold. Parking for our 4WD and off-road trailer was convenient in the paddock next door, although the size of the rooms didn't match what was shown in pictures.

The hotel had everything you would need in the rooms but with some issues like a badly-chipped basin, a layer of dust under the bed, and moth-eaten curtains. The service, especially from Peter, was excellent, very clean, and tidy. The location appeared good for accessing Mt. Field and other attractions outside of Hobart, but there were some noise disturbances. The dining experience could have been better with more imaginative options. The facilities were satisfactory.
